The mission of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation is to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research.
The Central New York Chapter, formed in 1996, serves 19 countries and has experienced continuous growth since that time.
The JDRF staff and Board of Directors work together to offer local programs that include support and assistance to newly diagnosed individuals and their families, continued education and awareness and numerous events to fund a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research.
We are dedicated to finding a cure for juvenile diabetes.
Type 1 diabetes most commonly strikes young children and makes them dependent on injected or pumped insulin for life. Insulin allows a person to stay alive, but does not cure diabetes.
